All this t-ball talk inspired my next Betcha Didn’t Know...#45:
I was formerly the pitcher on my little league baseball team. A mostly boys team, that is. As you know, the pitcher is the most important player on the team. Which is why I proudly announced that fact to Jeff with a bit of boastfulness in my tone.
Jeff: You were the pitcher? Were you any good?
Lisa: Well it was machine pitch, so I didn’t actually pitch the ball.
Jeff: Oh, so you just picked up the ball and put it into the machine.
Lisa: Well, no. Actually, we weren’t allowed to touch the machine. I would hand it to one of the coaches and he would put it into the machine.
Jeff: WOW! (purely sarcastic)
Honestly, for 20 years of my life, I have been proud of the fact that I was the pitcher on a mostly boys team. Then Jeff goes and bursts my bubble. Can’t he let me have my glory? Other than wall-ball, that was my one athletic claim to fame.
