Party Like It's Two Thousand Nine

The annual New Year's Eve party was a great success.

Our very own "Matt-gician" performed several magic tricks,
many of which worked as planned.

After getting somewhat beat down by the lack of
ohhhs and ahhhs
coming from the all-boy audience (8 boys under the age of 9),
Matt-gician's assistant came to the rescue by
fetching him such items as:
a Very Strong Drink and some chapstick.

After the Very Strong Drink, the magic show was declared a success.
Aside from that one part where he picked the wrong card...
and that other part where he became somewhat demanding (stand HERE! not THERE!)...
and the near miss of catching my house on fire, of course.

Marc brought his talent too. And his guitar. And his fancy microphone stand.

Not to be outdone, Jeff performed The ABC song
with his electric guitar and pink strap from when he was twelve.

And later an encore presentation: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Next year, I am declaring the party an all out talent show.

I will hula-hoop.

If that doesn't give you something to look forward to in 2010,
I don't know what will.
The following morning fireworks were popped.
(After some proper safety instructions and spacing.)

It was such a fun party. We need to have a happy middle of the year party during the summer.

Love you, Mimi
